About Me

Dr. Chloe Blau is a counseling psychology specializing in forensic mental health assessment, court-involved family dynamics, and the evaluation and treatment of individuals navigating legal, correctional, and high-conflict family systems. She completed her doctoral training in Counseling Psychology at Seton Hall University, followed by advanced clinical placements in state psychiatric hospitals and court-mandated treatment settings. In her current role at SD Family Services, Dr. Blau conducts Category E GAL evaluations, along with additional psychological assessments. She also serves as a neutral consultant in high-conflict custody matters, offering structured, evidence-informed recommendations to support safer and more collaborative co-parenting arrangements.

Dr. Blau’s forensic work is grounded in a strong empirical foundation shaped by nearly a decade of research at the Nathan S. Kline Institute for Psychiatric Research, where she contributed to studies on violence risk, cognitive and affective functioning, law enforcement crisis intervention, and alternatives to incarceration. She has extensive experience treating forensic psychiatric inpatients, providing competency-related psychoeducation, developing behavioral programs, and facilitating group interventions targeting psychosis, emotion regulation, and aggression. Across her clinical, evaluative, and research roles, Dr. Blau prioritizes clarity, fairness, cultural responsiveness, and adherence to best-practice standards in forensic psychological practice.
